Matt heads up Purple’s creative team

We are very proud to welcome Matt Hutchins into our creative team. Matt brings with him more than 20 years of graphic design experience for some top end automotive clients and has a natural eye for detail. Having worked as Comm’s Manager for The Royal Automobile Club and Marketing Manager for Moss Europe, Matt has returned to his real passion; pure design. Before joining Purple in 2020 Matt spent five years designing for Octane Magazine and GTO Engineering Ltd.

“Since sketching concepts at a young age my focus has always been design and the thrill of creating something new and taking it to it’s ultimate potential. My passion and enthusiasm for design remains unabated and is equalled to that of managing a successful marketing campaign.”

Debbi concluded “We are so lucky to have Matt on board who despite joining at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, has been the lead designer on a number of commercial vehicle projects as well as developing the brand identity for a new-start, online global fitness venture.

For a second consecutive year our phenomenally successful client Wren Kitchens took centre stage at this years MT Awards by winning the Business Excellence Award, last year they won the Operational Excellence Award. Working very closely with the logistics and transport team at Wren, we were able to help demonstrate their industry leading methodologies and business principles that make them the huge success they are today. In just over 10 years Wren boast a turnover of £643m and a gross profit of just under £300m, which is largely down to owning its supply chain; they make kitchens of dreams, they sell them and they deliver them, which is pretty unique in their industry. Another Gorgeous Website!

Take a look at, our latest website launch on behalf of our international client, MojoMe. As with all our latest websites, it has been future proofed with the latest technology to ensure the client capitalises on new Google search technology that is on the horizon. As with all the MojoMe websites, this one has been designed and built with slick product ordering facilities as well as easy to access product information which is easily updated by the client or the team at Purple.

Another Successful Exhibition

For the 6th successive year we won the contract to design, build and host a business-to-business exhibition stand at the NEC for Jigsaw Transport, the UK’s leading provider of large-scale managed transport solutions. “Our main marketing thrust of the year is out presence at Multimodal, and again we were delighted with the stand, our pre and post-event communications and the customer hospitality, which Purple did in its entirety for us. Client launches Nutriflex

Working alongside our international client, we have just designed, built and launched their new website which has been future-proofed to ensure it is compliant and will work perfectly with new internet technology soon to be launched. is also a user friendly e-commerce facility for consumers to order products direct. We are in the process of training the client to update the website in-house, but thankfully they are too busy processing orders and are very happy for us to look after this side of thing for them for the time being. All of our websites are user friendly and can be client-managed and hosted or like in most cases, we host and manage the sites 24/7 on their behalf.

New Client Website Launched

We are very proud to launch a new website for Award winning, low carb performance nutrition company, MojoMe. Since 2013 MojoMe has been making low-carb lifestyles easy, delicious and convenient by developing a range of sugar-free* low-carb healthy-fat (LCHF) #SuperQuickMixes, Cupboard Essentials and Lifestyle Supplements.

Aimed at the high street retail market as well as individual consumers, the website engages, educates and provides a great user experience whether the visitor wants to find out more or place an order. It also links seamlessly to social media sites to provide a seamless and user friendly portal for the team at MojoMe. Take a look… goes live!

New client – The Grantley Group (Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire’s leading property agency) – is delighted with their new website which launched today. We created a new group branding to align the coming together of a range of high-end property services from sales, lettings, property management and serviced apartments. Adopting the new branding, the website was designed and built to promote professionalism and provide slick user experiences. Functionality is key to ensure that buyers and sellers can find what they are looking for swiftly – imagery and text content is geared to give a comprehensive appreciation of the properties and services on offer. Life doesn’t get any better than this, enter baby Maddox Riley. Huge congratulations to Laura (hurry back we’re missing you) and Ben on the wonderful arrival of their beautiful baby boy, who weighed in at a very surprising 9lb 1oz! Not sure where he was hiding, as those that saw Laura in her last few weeks, commented on her modest and neat bump. We cant wait for a cuddle Laura, when are you bringing Maddox to meet us???

Isover Awards 5-Year, £15 million contract to Purple client, Downton

Leading insulation manufacturer Isover, part of the global Saint Gobain group, has awarded a five-year transport contract worth approximately £15 million to CM Downton. The contract was finalised following a competitive tender during which Isover identified that Downton could offer an innovative solution that delivers value and stability to support its growing business requirement. Downton has taken on the management, transport and shunting teams from the previous transport provider under TUPE regulations and also acquired a number of Isover-liveried trailers.

Isover manufactures a range of mineral wool insulation products at its factory in Runcorn, Cheshire. This is located just 400m from Downton’s own facility in the town, which presented an opportunity to configure an innovative transport solution. The previous transport provider had co-ordinated the operations of its own fleet and multiple sub-contractors to arrange the collection of loads from the factory. With limited space on the site for loading, and little room for expansion as production volumes grow, this led to some scheduling issues and periods of congestion which put a strain on deliveries. Downton offered an alternative solution whereby finished products are shunted directly from the factory store to its own facility where there is more room for loading and future expansion. This eliminates the need for delivery vehicles to visit the factory which has significantly reduced the number of movements on site, leading to simpler administrative and health and safety compliance processes.

John Pointon, supply chain manager at Isover UK, commented: “CM Downton’s commitment to improving the customer experience is aligned with our own service charter and will ensure our products are delivered as quickly as possible and on time. Downton was able to demonstrate innovation and value that will support Isover’s ongoing business growth with added stability. Part of the transfer to CM Downton will include updated branding to 20 of Isover’s trailers in line with the company’s new Sound Good Factor campaign.”

Downton has configured the operation with a core fleet supported with resources from its wider network. The company ensures a high proportion – typically over 90 per cent – of loads are transported using its own vehicles which makes it inherently simpler to co-ordinate all aspects of the contract with greater consistency and transparency than the previous operation. The operation involves daily deliveries of between 30 and 35 loads of palletised slab and roll insulation weighing up to 10 tonnes. These are delivered as full and multi-drop loads to Isover’s building trade customers and other stockists.

The contract was awarded in December 2016 with Downton taking over full operations at the end of May 2017. During a relatively complex transition period, Downton completed the transfer of the previous transport supplier’s team of managers, drivers and shunters under TUPE regulations. The negotiations also resulted in the transfer of 20 Isover-liveried teardrop trailers from the previous supplier to Downton. The company offered transport support during the transfer period to ensure a smoother transition, including handling around 20 per cent of capacity in the month before the actual go-live date, and providing some storage capacity over the Christmas period.

David Hutchings, Head of Business Development at CM Downton, said: “The length of contract is unusual but we were able to demonstrate innovation and value that will support Isover’s ongoing business growth with added stability. There are commercial and operational benefits of doing an extended deal for both sides. Saint Gobain and Isover saw that we are a solid business who can offer strategic support over the longer term. This was a challenging and complex transfer but it was completed seamlessly, the ramp-up has gone exceptionally well and the support we gave ahead of go-live demonstrates our flexible and can-do attitude.”
